					</table><p>The <a href="https://indianrailways.gov.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ministry of Railways</a> has issued a tender to set up 1,445 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects at railway stations in the Guntakal Division of South Central Railway in Andhra Pradesh.</p>
<p>The tender’s advertised value is ₹98.11 million (~$1.05 million).</p>
<p>Bids must be submitted by April 30, 2026.</p>
<p>Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹1.96 million (~$21,023.54).</p>
<p>The scope of work entails the survey, design, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems of capacities varying from 20 kW to 200 kW. It also involves providing operation and maintenance services for five years.</p>
<p>The solar projects must incorporate crystalline Mono PERC modules, pure sine-wave inverters, and a remote monitoring system with a SIM valid for five years. The projects must include net connectivity, fixing structures, lightening arrestor, earthing, net metering, controls and protections, and single-phase preventers.</p>
<p>Selected bidders must provide interconnect cables, cable trays for DC cabling, and switches. They must complete the civil works for the projects.</p>
<p>The solar projects must be completed within 60 months.</p>
<p>Bidders must have completed or substantially completed any of the following similar works during the past seven years:</p>
<ul>
<li>Three similar works, each costing at least 30% of the tender’s advertised value</li>
<li>Two similar works, each costing at least 40% of the tender’s advertised value</li>
<li>One similar work, costing at least 60% of the tender’s advertised value</li>
</ul>
<p>Similar work refers to the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of solar power-generating systems with a minimum capacity of 5 kW.</p>
<p>Bidders must have a minimum average annual turnover of V/N or V (whichever is lesser), where V is the tender value, and N is the completion period in years.</p>
<p>This February, South Central Railway <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/south-central-railway-invites-bids-for-1-4-mw-rooftop-solar-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> an engineering, procurement, and construction tender to set up rooftop solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 1.415 MW in Vijayawada Division, Andhra Pradesh.</p>
<p>Recently, the Nagpur division of Central Railway, under the Ministry of Railways, <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/central-railway-invites-bids-for-1-3-mw-rooftop-solar-project" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to set up a 1.3 MW rooftop solar project on buildings and residential quarters at the Wardha and Ajni stations in Maharashtra.</p>

					</table><p>The <a href="https://scr.indianrailways.gov.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">South Central Railway</a> has issued an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) tender to set up rooftop solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 1.415 MW in Vijayawada Division, Andhra Pradesh.</p>
<p>The estimated project cost is ₹89.36 million (~$985,299).</p>
<p>Bids must be submitted by March 6, 2026.</p>
<p>Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹596,800 (~$6,580).</p>
<p>The project covers the installation of 46 rooftop solar systems with capacities ranging from 5 kW to 100 kW on circulating area platforms, station buildings, and service buildings.</p>
<p>The scope of work includes design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems.</p>
<p>The selected bidder will also be responsible for supplying and layinglow-tension underground cables and switchgear equipment, excavation and trenching for cables, earthing arrangements, the erection of high-rise mounting structures, and the dismantling and removal of roof iron sheets.</p>
<p>The project must be completed within six months of the award date.</p>
<p>The interconnection voltage specified is 1,100 volts using low-tension underground cables.</p>
<p>All systems will operate under a net metering arrangement, with associated metering costs payable to the respective distribution company.</p>
<p>Bidders must have completed similar works involving the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of solar systems with a capacity of at least 5 kW within the last seven years.</p>
<p>This requirement must be met by either three similar works, each costing at least 30% of the advertised tender value; two similar works, each costing at least 40%; or one similar work costing at least 60% of the advertised tender value.</p>
<p>Bidders must demonstrate a minimum average annual contractual turnover equal to V/N or V, whichever is less, where V represents the advertised tender value and N represents the completion period in years.</p>

<p>The last date to submit bids is July 3, 2024.</p>
<p>The projects must be completed within four months of receiving the work order.</p>
<p>Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹1.18 billion (~$14.13 million). The cost of the tender document is non-refundable.</p>
<p>They should have completed similar work, such as supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning a solar power generating system with at least 5 kW capacity, the minimum capacity for either grid-connected or off-grid systems.</p>
<p>Bidders should have completed any of the following in the last seven years: three similar works, each costing not less than the amount equal to 30% of the ₹20.56 billion (~$24.62 million) value of the tender, or two similar works, each costing not less than the amount equal to 40% of the tender value; or one similar work costing not less than the amount equal to 60% of the tender value.</p>
<p>Work experience certificates issued by any government organization or a public listed company having an average annual turnover of ₹5 billion (~$59.88 million) and above in the last three financial years must be submitted.</p>
<p>Bidders must have a minimum average annual contractual turnover of V/N or &#8216;V,&#8217; whichever is less, where V is the advertised value of the tender and N is the number of years prescribed for completion of work for which bids have been invited. This will be calculated as an average of the total contractual payments in the previous three financial years.</p>
<p>The Secunderabad Division, Electrical, South Central Railway, had <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/south-central-railway-rooftop-solar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a tender for 1.782 MW of rooftop solar projects of different capacities at station buildings, service buildings, residential buildings, and level crossings.</p>
<p>The Southern Railway had also <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/southern-railway-invites-bids-for-rooftop-solar-projects-in-chennai" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to set up grid-connected rooftop solar power projects of a cumulative capacity of 1.55 MW at various service buildings and railway colonies in the Chennai division.</p>

<p>The last date to submit bids is June 5, 2024.</p>
<p>The scope of work includes the design, supply, erection, and commissioning of rooftop grid-connected solar projects ranging from 10 kW to 500 kW capacity at various locations. It involves supplying and installing solar modules, inverters, net meters, cabling, earthing arrangements, and all associated works as per the &#8220;Make in India&#8221; policy.</p>
<p>The project has a value of ₹141.6 million ($1.72 million) and requires an earnest money deposit of ₹858,500 ($10,430). The project must be completed in six months.</p>
<p>Bidders must have a minimum average annual contractual turnover equal to the advertised tender value or the value calculated based on the number of years prescribed for completion, whichever is less. The turnover will be calculated from the total contractual payments over the previous three financial years from audited balance sheets.</p>
<p>Bidders must have completed or substantially completed similar works during the last seven years. They must meet criteria like having executed three similar works of 30% advertised value each, two of 40% value each, or one of 60% advertised value.</p>
<p>A valid &#8220;B&#8221; grade electrical license issued by the competent authority is also required.</p>
<p>The Varanasi Division, Electrical,  North Eastern Railway recently <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/railways-invites-bids-for-projects-in-varanasi-division" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> a tender for 1.15 MW rooftop solar projects at railway stations. The scope of the work involved designing, testing, and commissioning an on-grid solar photovoltaic system without battery backup.</p>
<p>Previously, the Indian Railways <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/railways-issue-empanelment-rooftop-solar-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to empanel agencies to implement 2.33 MW rooftop solar power projects. The tender was without any central financial assistance.</p>
