					</table><p>Solar adoption across India’s commercial and industrial (C&amp;I) segment is growing steadily, with businesses realizing the benefits of reduced power bills and sustainability in their operations.</p>
<p>Grain processing companies with high daytime electricity consumption are increasingly deploying captive solar assets to reduce grid dependence and stabilize long-term electricity costs.</p>
<p>Uttar Pradesh-based Kedarnath Multigrains has commissioned a 659 kW rooftop solar power system at its Shahajahapur facility.</p>
<p>The manufacturing outlet consumes approximately 250,000 units of electricity per month, based on production volumes. The installed solar system generates approximately 65,000 units per month, meeting a significant portion of the facility’s daytime energy requirements.</p>
<p>The company reduced its monthly electricity bills from ₹1.6 million (~$17,440) to ₹1.8 million (~$19,620) to around ₹400,000 (~$4,360) to ₹500,000 (~$5,450), depending on production cycles and seasonal factors. The reduction has been achieved through lower grid drawal during peak sunlight hours and net billing adjustments.</p>
<p>Kedarnath Multigrains operates grain processing, milling machinery, storage infrastructure, and auxiliary systems that require continuous and large amounts of electricity.</p>
<p>Shashwat Agarwal, Director at Kedarnath Multigrains, said the decision to install the rooftop solar system was driven by cost management and operational efficiency. “Solar has helped us reduce grid dependency and bring down monthly power expenses.”</p>
<p>The project was executed by <a href="https://www.grunpower.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Grun Power</a>, which deployed high-efficiency TOPCon bifacial solar photovoltaic modules to enhance output and long-term performance.</p>
<p>Ashish Tak, Co-founder at Grun Power, said the technology selection was focused on maximizing generation within the available rooftop footprint. “We designed the 659 kW system to deliver higher energy output and stable performance. The execution was completed without major challenges.”</p>
<p>In addition to cost savings, Kedarnath Multigrains cited environmental considerations as a key factor behind the investment. The company stated that solar power supports its goal of reducing pollution and operating more sustainably.</p>
<p>Grun Power provides post-installation services, including system monitoring, routine maintenance, performance analysis, and technical support to ensure long-term efficiency.</p>
<p>Based on the current installation&#8217;s performance, Kedarnath Multigrains is considering expanding the facility&#8217;s solar capacity and exploring similar installations at its other units.</p>

					</table><p>As commercial and industrial (C&amp;I) consumers across India increasingly turn to rooftop solar to manage rising electricity costs and ensure long-term energy reliability, manufacturing companies are emerging as key adopters of on-site renewable energy.</p>
<p>Rooftop solar systems are enabling factories to offset a significant share of their daytime power consumption and improve sustainability performance without disrupting core operations.</p>
<p>Kanpur-based <a href="https://geetapolymers.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Geeta Polymers</a> has reduced its monthly electricity expenses by around 30% to 40% after commissioning a 350 kW rooftop solar system at its manufacturing facility, marking a significant shift in how the company manages its energy requirements.</p>
<p>Operating under a continuous production load, the company previously incurred electricity bills ranging from ₹700,000 (~$7,770) to ₹800,000 (~$8,880)/month.</p>
<p>Following the installation of the rooftop solar system, the company’s reliance on grid electricity, particularly during daytime operating hours, has significantly reduced, resulting in sustained cost savings.</p>
<p>The company has an average energy requirement of about 400 kW to 450 kW, driven by manufacturing, processing, and auxiliary equipment operations. On average, solar energy meets 40% to 45% of Geeta Polymers’ daily electricity requirement during operational hours, while during peak daytime periods, the contribution rises to 50% to 60%.</p>
<p>This has improved energy planning at the plant and reduced exposure to rising grid tariffs.</p>
<p>Abhimanyu Arora, Director at Geeta Polymers, said, “We decided to install a solar power system to manage rising electricity costs and reduce our dependence on grid power, and the reduction in our monthly bills has been both measurable and consistent.”</p>
<p>Apart from direct financial savings, the company has cited operational and environmental benefits from the solar installation. The system has been operating reliably, supporting smoother plant operations.</p>
<p>Arora also stated that the shift to solar energy has helped Geeta Polymers lower its carbon footprint, align with sustainable business practices, and strengthen compliance with environmental norms.</p>
<p>The rooftop solar project was designed and executed by <a href="https://www.grunpower.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Grun Power</a>, which engineered the system to maximize energy generation within the available rooftop area. The on-grid solar project uses high-efficiency TOPCON bifacial solar modules.</p>
<p>Ashish Tak, Co-founder at Grun Power, said, “By combining efficient system design with high-performance modules and structured operation and maintenance support, we were able to deliver a rooftop solar plant that meets a large share of Geeta Polymers’ energy demand while delivering clear financial savings.”</p>
<p>The installation was completed, with routine aspects such as rooftop load assessment, layout optimization, and coordination with ongoing manufacturing operations, all managed through detailed planning.</p>
<p>Grun Power is also providing comprehensive post-installation operation and maintenance services.</p>
<p>“Based on the current system&#8217;s performance and future production growth, the company is open to expanding its solar capacity to further increase renewable energy usage,” Arora said.</p>

Geeta Polymers Cuts Power Bills With 350 kW Rooftop Solar System

					</table><p>Plastic products manufacturer <a href="https://kayplastproduct.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kay Plast Product</a> has installed a 1 MW rooftop solar system at its facility in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, helping the company reduce high electricity costs and secure reliable, sustainable power.</p>
<p>Executed by <a href="https://www.grunpower.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Grun Power</a>, the project uses Waaree 590 W N-Type Topcon modules, Sungrow inverters, and an aluminum mounting structure for long-term durability and performance.</p>
<p>Before switching to solar, Kay Plast’s energy consumption averaged 15,000 to 16,000 units per day or around 480,000 kWh monthly.</p>
<p>The rooftop system is expected to cover approximately 25% of the company’s monthly electricity costs, with a payback period of three and a half years, after which the savings will continue throughout the project’s life.</p>
<p>Kay Plast’s product range includes plastic containers, packaging materials, household items, and customized plastic components.</p>
<p>Installation posed challenges, including space optimization, logistics, and compliance with local policies. Grun Power worked with the local distribution companies and the Electrical Safety Department to secure timely net metering and approvals. A unique solution involved using raceways for table-to-table DC cable laying instead of flexible pipes or PVC conduits, which helped avoid monkeys from attacking the cables and ensured long-term reliability.</p>
<p>“The micro, small, and medium enterprises sector is the backbone of India’s economy, and high energy costs remain a challenge. At Grun Power, we are addressing this with customized rooftop solar solutions,” said Ashish Tak, Co-Founder at Grun Power.</p>
<p>Commercial and industrial (C&amp;I) entities, large institutions, and residential apartment buildings are all seeking clean energy solutions at a lower cost than traditional grid power tariffs. Rooftop solar, being the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly energy source, presents an attractive option for C&amp;I businesses aiming to reduce their operating expenses.</p>
