India generated 11.86 billion units (BU) of solar power in the 11-month period from April 2016-February 2017. Solar accounted for 1.04 percent of all power generated in the country during this period, according to Central Electricity Authority (CEA). Compared to the same period in the previous financial year, solar power generation had an 83 percent increase year-over-year.
