Bahrain’s Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) announced the commencement of work on the country’s first solar project. The project has a planned production capacity of 150 MW. It will be developed in partnership with the private sector and is a part of Bahrain’s target of reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2060. EWA stated that the solar project will be in the country’s southern region, near Bilaj Al Jazayer. EWA plans to launch a global marketing exercise on August 14 to help advance the project’s development process. The exercise will involve engagement with local and international developers and stakeholders.
