Dubai Electricity and Water Authority invited bids to submit proposals for the seventh phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. Bids will be accepted for 2 GW solar projects and 1.4 GW BESS for a six-hour duration. The BESS will provide a total capacity of 8,400 MWh. The project will be implemented under the independent power producer model. The solar park’s current production capacity is 3,860 MW, with an additional 800 MW under construction. With the completion of the seventh phase, the solar park’s total production capacity is expected to reach 8,060 MW by 2030.
